Koufax, Robinson items

PHOENIX — A Sandy Koufax Dodgers home jersey from 1966 and a Jackie Robinson game-used bat from the early 1950s lead featured items that are for sale by Hunt Auctions during the All-Star Game FanFest.
Among the 436 live auction lots at the the San Diego Convention Center on July 11 are items from the Tony Gwynn Collection. Among top Gwynn items are his 1984 and 1998 National League championship rings; his 1986 Gold Glove award; his batting champion Silver Bat awards from 1988 and ‘89; his Commissioner’s Historic Achievement Award by Tiffany & Co. in 2001; and his Silver Slugger awards from 1986 and 1995.
Among other items in the sale are:
• A 1912 Joe Wood Boston Red Sox world championship presentational charm;
• A Babe Ruth-autographed Boston Red Sox-inscribed baseball from 1919;
• A single-signed baseball by Ty Cobb;
• A collection of 29 autographs from members of the 1927 New York Yankees;
• A baseball signed by both Ruth and Lou Gehrig;
• A 1934 Tour of Japan team-signed baseball by 19 players, including Ruth, Gehrig, Lefty Gomez, Lefty O’Doul,  Joe Cascarella, Moe Berg, Earl Averill, Charlie Gehringer, Jimmie Foxx and, among others, Connie Mack;
• A 1943 War Bond benefit game ball signed by seven members of the inaugural Hall of Fame class, including Ruth, Johnson, Collins, Wagner, Speaker,  and Connie Mack.
