EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio – Lou Holtz is known for his great one-liners and magic tricks. And, well, being a pretty good football coach. He is Hall of Fame material, but museum material? He didn’t think so. “I did not want a shrine dedicated to me,” he writes on the Lou Holtz Hall of Fame and Museum website. He initially rejected the concept. But the creators expanded the idea to highlight “all fields” throughout the Upper Ohio Valley. The Lou Holtz Museum was born in East Liverpool. Its newest inductee is Hizzoner Rudolph W. Giuliani, 107th major of New York City. The first museum HOF class was announced in 1998. Among sports celebrities are Norm Van Lier, John Havlicek, Jerome Bettis and Phil Niekro. Among others are Clark Gable, Regis Philbin, Robert Urich, and John Boehner.
