NEW YORK — Derek Jeter’s pinstripe jersey and pants worn on Lou Gehrig Day in 2014 sold for $19,103 in an auction conducted by Steiner Sports. Proceeds from this and select other items benefited the ALS Association. Among other ALSA items were Ichiro Suzuki’s jersey for $5,948; and Masahiro Tanaka’s for $4,061. Other items were sold to benefit Jeter’s Turn 2 Foundation, including gear from Barry Zito, Ian Kinsler, Joe Mauer, Adrian Gonzalez and Adrian Beltre, among others.
Among other items that sold Oct. 19 were:
- A Derek Jeter-signed game-used ball from his 3,000thhit game for $6,534;
- A vintage Yankees jersey signed by Mickey Mantle for $2,659; and
- A 1972 Yankees team-signed ball with 24 signatures, including Thurman Munson, Elston Howard, Mel Stottlemyre, Fritz Peterson, Gene Michael, Felipe Alou, Sparky Lyle and Lindy McDaniel for $1,980.
An Old Yankee Stadium locker used by Chien Ming Wang and Roy White did not sell with a minimum bid of $5,500.
