Gwynn 3000th hit ball: $142,762

LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif. — Tony Gwynn’s 3,000th hit ball from 1999 sold for $142,762 in a sale recently held by SCP Auctions. His first career home run ball sold for $9,336. The two balls were among  about 30 Gwynn items  from his estate. His 2007 Baseball Hall of Fame Ring sold for $37,663; his 1989 silvGWYNNBALLer bat for his national batting title sold for $22,013.

Meanwhile, Babe Ruth’s 1939 New York World’s Fair uniform sold for $227,854.

• An early Magic  Johnson Lakers game-worn jersey sold for $47,188;

• Vince Lombardi’s 1956 New York Giants championship ring sold for $50,131. Lombardi’s hand-written playbook notes from 1957 sold for $6,322;

• A variation of the 1969 Super Bowl III full ticket – Jets upset game – sold for $59,098.

• Orlando Cepeda’s World Series rings with the San Francisco Giants from 2012 and 2014 each sold for $59,098; his 2010 ring sold for $4,401;

• The 1947 Brooklyn Dodgers National League championship ring sold for $32,230;

• George Blanda’s 1967 AFL championship ring with the Oakland Raiders sold for $31,127; his 1961 Houston Oilers American Football League championship ring sold for $7,260;

• Christian Laettner’s 1992 Dream Team-signed ball from the Barcelona Olympics , signed by all players and coaches, sold for $29,557;

• Carl Hubbell’s New York Giants game-worn cap from 1933-’35 sold for $25,063; and

• A ball signed on the Sweet Spot by Babe Ruth and on the side panel by Lou Gehrig sold for $25,063.
